Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, The Māori Language Commission has upgraded its website, integrating four websites into one.
Thewww.tetaurawhiri.govt.nzwebsite creates a one-stop shop for the public to access information about:
-He Puna Whakarauora, the research centre
-Māorilanguage community funding
-other services previously available through the old corporate andKōrero Māoriwebsites
-ordering resources for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori which beginson 27 J uly.
‘Our website is now compatible across a range of platforms and devices, so Māori language speakersand learners can engage with us from wherever they are in the motu, or the world,’says Acting Chief Executive, TuehuHarris.’
While the look and feel of the website has changed, Māori languagecommunities are assured that they will still be able to access information and engage withTe Taura Whiri i te Reo Māorias they always have. For example:
Resources for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2015, which begins in three weeks , can be pre-ordered
theMāte Reo funding round will operate as usual, but will now be accessed via thewww.tetaurawhiri.govt.nzdomain.
Members of the public who search for or enter a url forwww.ma- tereo.co.nzorwww.koreromaori.co.nzwill be redirected to the appropriate part ofwww.tetaurawhiri.govt.nz.
‘We want to ensure that whānau, hapū and iwi will continue to access ourservices and information. Our aim is for the public online experience of this website upgrade to be seamless’says Harris.
‘In the future, you can expect to see us move towards the digitisation of resources to make them more easily available. In addition, some exciting tereo Māori revitalisation projects are being created and will becomeaccessible through ourwebsite’ Harris explained. ‘We will be continuing to develop the new website over time, especially over the next three months.’
